Descripción

Château Poujeaux es uno de los tintos más prestigiosos de la subzona bordelesa de Moulis. Un tinto que se muestra siempre lleno de recuerdos ahumados, fiel al estilo de la apelación y con un potencial de guarda largo. Catado en barrica en mayo de 2016 por Neil Martin para The Wine Advocate con un rango de 91-93 puntos Parker.

Se realiza en tanques de madera, de cemento y en depósitos de acero inoxidable de pequeño tamaño para llevar a cabo una vinificación parcelaria.

Previsto de 12 meses en barrica de roble francés (entre el 30 y el 40% son nuevas todos los años).

The Wine Advocate:

The 2016 Poujeaux has an impressive bouquet with plenty of blackberry, briary and cigar box aromas that are very well defined. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannin on the entry. This is a "smoky" Poujeaux with commendable depth and structure, a little more "solid" than recent vintages with good depth on the black pepper-tinged finish. The 2015 Poujeaux was very good, but this may well surpass that and achieve the level of some of the legendary wines from yesteryear.

An outstanding Moulis made with consulting help from Stéphane Derenoncourt, the 2016 Château Poujeaux offers up a rock star, medium to full-bodied, layered profile as well as pretty notes of ripe black fruits, graphite, violets, and background oak. Give this sleeper 2-3 years of bottle age and it will impress for a decade or more.
