The 2019 Vivencias was produced with Tempranillo from Valtiendas in the province of Segovia, from 52-year-old head-pruned vines on limestone soils. It fermented in stainless steel with indigenous yeasts and matured in second and third use barrels for 20 months and eight more months in an oak vat. It's ripe and powerful, with 15.3% alcohol, a full-bodied, full-throttle blockbuster with concentration and power, integrated oak and a lush mouthfeel with round, glossy, abundant tannins that should get polished with some time in the bottle. It has a modern profile, clean and generous. I tasted a bottle from 2016, a much cooler year, to check how the wine evolves, and it felt superb; and a magnum of 2011, which was also a warm year, perhaps even warmer than 2019, was also young and lively. 6,500 bottles produced.
