Taboadella Touriga Nacional Reserva 2020

A fresh and crunchy red with aromas of pine cones, walnuts, dried flowers and purple berries. Medium-bodied with grainy tannins and crisp acidity. Fragrant and vibrant. Drink or hold.
Structured and still firm, this wine promises much. Ripe black fruits and acidity vie with tannins in a rich assembly of perfumes and black-currant flavors. Drink the wine from 2025.
The 2020 Touriga Nacional Reserva was aged for nine months in 20% new French oak. It comes in at 12.95% alcohol. Silky and flavored with blue fruits, this understated Touriga is expressive and fresh at the same time. The structure is somewhat in charge now, though, and this can certainly benefit from a year or two in the cellar, like all the winery's monovarietals. It is a fine achievement in managing to remain so fresh and so expressive. It's fair to say this has some upside, but no matter what, it is another fine value from a winery that keeps overdelivering. There were 17,500 bottles produced.
