Enate Syrah-Shiraz 2019

This comes from Enate’s series of twice-named varietal wines, a quirk of the winemaking team’s way of referring to certain barrels (eg “Not the Cabernet Sauvignon barrel, I want the Merlot Merlot!”). In this case, it is apt that the wine is not only named Syrah but Shiraz as there is something quite Australian in style. Very spicy with lots of black pepper, and juicy blackcurrant and raspberry fruit, the wine is intense but very approachable with soft, ripe tannins. 2024 - 2027
Rich and chocolaty red with notes of mocha, cedar, tobacco and black plums. It’s toasty and full-bodied with plush tannins. Bold vanilla notes linger in the long finish. Drink now or hold.
