No 2016 was produced, so from the 2015, we jump to the 2017 Finca Genoveva Caíño, which I tasted next to the 2018 and could compare the two. They were produced in the same way, natural fermentation of the full clusters in open-top barrels, but in this case, as the volume was lower, it had an élevage of one year in 225-liter oak barrels. Brick dust, a little earthy, but more elegant and subtle, like the rest of Caíños from 2017, and there's something metallic/bloody, noticeable in the varietal wines and also in the blends. The palate has finesse and elegance; it's balsamic and there is an herbal twist that gives freshness, and the flavors are pure and long. This is delicious! Only 600 bottles were filled in March 2019.
