Garcia Schwaderer VIGNO Carignan 2013

"Felipe García and Connie Schwaderer started purchasing grapes from Jorge Ollé on Melozal in 2007, and in 2008 they bottled their first pure Carignan. Their first Vigno is from 2009. Their 2013 Vigno is from this same old vine, dry and organically farmed Carignan vineyard that was planted in 1958 on granite soils. The field has been worked by the same family since it was planted. As per their philosophy, they went for minimal intervention, without additions or corrections, and the wine matured in third\ use French barriques for two years. The color is already impressive, a bright ruby -- the brightness indicating high acidity. The nose is an explosion of flowers, terribly elegant with great harmony, subtlety and depth, with imperceptible oak and fruit from the red spectrum. The silky palate has electric acidity (it has an incredible pH of 3.12!), layers of flavors and superb persistence. This has to be their finest wine ever, and great value for the money; you don't find this quality at this price. Grab it if you can! 4,467 bottles were filled in September 2015. This vineyard is also the source for the Vigno of Torres and Valdivieso."
