Descripción

Guigal entrega con su Chateauneuf du Pape un vino rico, con agradables notas de especias y frutos rojos maduros. Es todo equilibrio y armonía. Demuestra la clase de este particular terroir de cantos rodados y permite una larga guarda. Un gran exponente de una de las grandes denominaciones del valle del Ródano.

Rojo oscuro intenso.
Nariz
Especiada y de fruta roja madura.
Boca
Potente y compleja, en la que destacan sus taninos redondos. Tinto rico, untuoso, con notas de cereza madura, grosella y mermelada de fresa. Armonioso y equilibrado.
Temperatura de servicio
Se recomienda servir a 16 ºC.
Maridaje
Perfecto con carnes rojas, aves de caza y quesos.

Suelo
Compuesto por cantos rodados y arcilla roja.
Clima
Mediterráneo, cálido y seco.
Vinificación
Elaboración tradicional, con fermentación alcohólica a temperatura controlada y tres semanas de maceración en tanques.
Envejecimiento
24 meses en fudres de roble.

James Suckling:

Baking spices, cola and raspberry notes all appear on the nose of the 2016 Chateauneuf du Pape. It's full-bodied and velvety, folding in hints of French roast and dark chocolate on the lingering finish. It should drink well for a decade or more.

The Wine Advocate:

Lots of lavender, garrigue, peppery herbs, and rocking dark fruits emerge from the 2016 Châteauneuf-du-Pape. With medium to full body, ripe, polished tannins, and a great finish, it’s unquestionably an outstanding wine. It’s already hard to resist yet will benefit from 2-4 years of bottle age and cruise for a decade.

Jeb Dunnuck:

A fresh, dark-cherry and stone nose with attractive purity of fruit here. The palate has a very succulent, quite grainy and deeply ripe feel with a super rich, concentrated and bold serving of ripe dark plums and blackberries. Tar to close. Impressive. Drink or hold.

Wine Spectator:

Solidly built, featuring cherry and plum paste notes, laced with stony minerality, tobacco and garrigue accents. This has grip but remains well-integrated, ending with subtle persistence on the cedar-tinged finish. Best from 2020 through 2030. 3,500 cases imported.
