Descripción
Vino de paraje procedente de una pequeña parcela de la que toma su mismo nombre, este tinto riojano se presenta como una de las grandes revelaciones de la denominación. Se elabora con Tempranillo y un pequeño porcentaje de Viura. Expresivo, armonioso y cautivador.

Now established as one of the best red wines in Rioja, El Bardallo comes from three separate
sub-parcels within the vineyard of the same name. Pairing Tempranillo, 10% Viura and a
little Garnacha Tinta, it has some clove spice from 15% whole bunches, pine and rose petal
aromas, beautifully sculpted tannins and layers of pomegranate, raspberry and red cherry.

As with La Canoca, the 2022 El Bardallo changes from a single-vineyard to a paraje (lieu-dit) wine and includes more plots in the same place to increase the volume of wine produced. It's Tempranillo with some 10% white grapes, mostly Viura. It fermented with some whole-cluster fruit and indigenous yeasts and matured in 500- and 600-liter barrels. It's quite fruit-driven, aromatic and reminiscent of the old carbonic-fermentation reds matured in barrel, juicy and velvety, with abundant, chalky tannins and a dry finish. 3,200 bottles were filled in September 2023.
Dark cherries, blueberries, graphite, dark minerals and violets, with some dried herbs. Full-bodied and powdery, with chalky tannins and tension that give it al-dente texture and freshness. Reactive, pristine and long. Around 15% to 20% whole clusters. Lots of energy. Drink from 2025. - Zekun Shuai, Senior Editor.
