Penapedre 2015

The 2015 Penapedre is a red blend from the Ribeira Sacra zone. The wine was fermented in an open chestnut vat that was produced in a joint venture with other friends, mainly Alberto Nanclare, and then each of the two raised and bottled the wine separately. It's a blend of Mencía, with 21% Garnacha Tintorera and 14% Palomino. In fact, the two wines are called the same, after the name of the vineyard. There are lovely aromatics, violets, wild berries and a spicy touch. The palate has abundant, fine-grained tannins, with some rusticity, and is full of character. 1,300 bottles produced.
