Descripción
Este monovarietal orgánico de Viura es el homenaje de David Sampedro a los vinos del Jura y su cautivadora crianza bajo el velo de flor. Elaborado a partir de un viñedo de 1929, muestra un perfil ligeramente oxidativo, balsámico y con intensos recuerdos de flores secas, jalea real y manzanilla. Después de seis años de crianza en barrica, el resultado es un blanco muy diferente a los clásicos riojanos.

Phinca La Reveilla is a single parcel on clay and limestone soils that was planted in 1929 in - where else? - Elvillar. Fermented on its skins and showing the colour to match before ageing in old wood, where it developed a veil of flor yeast, this is a Rioja winemaker's tribute to the wines of the Jura. Salty and yeasty, with considerable grip and the complexity that's the hallmark of the Bhilar whites. 2021-26
The bright orange 2014 Phinca La Revilla Sexto Año Blanco comes from a small plot planted in 1925 with Viura grapes. The destemmed grapes were trodden by foot and fermented with natural yeasts, then pressed and transferred to used 225-liter oak barrels where the wine matured for six years without racking or being topped up. It has the most unusual nutty and spicy aromatic profile combined with notes of dehydrated yellow fruit, very different, and it has a spherical palate with very fine tannins and bright acidity. It's quite unusual, tasty and satisfying. 1,800 bottles were filled in December 2021.
