I tasted two seasonal bottlings of the NV Solera Fina María del Valle en Rama, the youngest of which was from spring 2024, marked clearly as "Primavera 2024" on the front label. This averages eight years when bottled unfiltered, and they say they select the more "evocative and feminine" wines to replenish their soleras and criaderas. It has a deep golden color, a pungent and powerful nose with notes of esparto grass and an elegant palate, narrow and long. The Fino from Montilla is produced with Pedro Ximénez grapes and is not fortified. The wine achieves 15% natural alcohol and has a very low pH, 3.15. The effect of the flor is stronger in the spring, plus this is a very young, recent bottling; so, the wine is sharper and more pungent. 1,240 half bottles and 480 magnums produced. This is also bottled in magnum. The price is for half a bottle. It was bottled in the spring of 2024.
