Pureza, intensidad y finura, Les Amis es el legado de la persistencia de expertos viticultores de distintas generaciones y el impacto de los grandes terroirs. La Garnacha ha sido la variedad incondicional de Barossa durante 150 años, especialmente adaptada al clima mediterráneo y a suelos antiguos. Esta parcela vieja (128 años) en la zona de Greenock, con su concentración, estructura y elegancia, muestra un fantástico equilibrio y es el perfecto ejemplo de un terruño único.

Nariz
Aromas de frutos rojos aromáticos inmediatos como frambuesa, cereza roja,
granada y grosella roja. Notas secundarias de cinco especias chinas, zarzaparrilla, anís estrellado, cardamomo y clavo equilibradas con tierra húmeda y canela especiada.
Boca
Lujoso y decadente, con una textura y profundidad frutales que llenan la boca.
Temperatura de servicio
Se recomienda servir a 16 ºC.
Consumo

Los fuertes vientos que soplaron en la floración al principio del periodo
vegetativo redujeron el número de bayas y racimos en muchos viñedos. El invierno y la primavera fueron secos, seguidos de diciembre y enero muy calurosos y secos. Los viñedos más viejos, con raíces más profundas, se mantuvieron firmes en estas condiciones y produjeron pequeños volúmenes de uva de gran calidad.
Vinificación
Tras la vendimia, esta pequeña parcela fue despalillada e introducida en un depósito de cemento durante 8 días con dos remontados diarios.
Envejecimiento
Crianza de 24 meses en barricas de roble francés (40% nuevas).

James Suckling:

Some sweet and candied berry character with some milk chocolate and cedar undertones. Medium body. Tile and berry. More typical shiraz from Barossa. Ripe fruit, but tangy. Hints of vanilla. Drink or hold.

The Wine Advocate:

The fruit for the Les Amis Grenache is from the Slade vineyard, planted in the 1960s. The wine was matured for 24 months in French barriques (40% new). The 2020 Les Amis Grenache is savory, resinous, structural and firm. The core of red fruit remains protected, but it is clear that there is a long future for this wine that is obvious from now, and it will only evolve over time. Clove bud through the finish leaves a cooling, mineral feel in the mouth. This is very big, but very good. It is polished, and the tannins have a gritty chew to them, which is very attractive.

Wine Enthusiast:

As the deep crimson hue suggests, this is not a light and airy Grenache, but it's a detailed and cellar-worthy one. Lucid aromas of mulberry, black cherry, raspberry compote are woven between green peppercorn and chocolaty oak, with an amaro-like underbelly. The palate is voluptuous, with rich layers of fruit, floral and spice flavor and distinctively textured tannins, like a cat's tongue. Polished, with fruit purity and sculpted muscle, this should evolve over the next 8-10 years.
