Michael Cooper’s Romeroso parcel in Ainzón is the source of this 50-year-old Garnacha which is produced biodynamically with minimal intervention. Foot trodden followed by spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts and 30% whole bunch, the wine then spends 18 months in 300L and 500L American and French oak, as well as some chestnut. It offers seductive fruit - blueberry and red berries – and fresh rosemary from the vineyard’s surrounds. Bright and juicy with just the right amount of edgy tannin. 2024 - 2027
The perfumed and heady 2020 Los Ángeles was produced with Garnacha from a 50-year-old plot that is worked biodynamically (but nothing is certified). It fermented with 30% full clusters and indigenous yeasts and matured in new and used barrels of different sizes and origins for one year. It's juicy, aromatic, quite expressive, showy and ripe at 15% alcohol, with abundant, slightly dusty tannins and a sense of high ripeness as the wine sat in the glass, developing notes of soy sauce and something earthy. Quite unusual. 900 bottles were filled in April 2022.
Cuesta creer que Norrel tenga algo que ver con esta garnacha tradicional aragonesa,no obstante es un pedazo de vino super recomendable !!
