Opinión de los críticos
The 2022 Quiñón de Valmira was produced with grapes from the vineyard that the wine is named after. It’s a blend of 58% Garnacha with other traditional varieties from head-pruned vines at 616 meters altitude on limestone, silt and sandy soils. They used 65% full clusters for native fermentation in oak vats with a 45-day maceration. The wine matured in oak foudres for 15 months. He always keeps this wine with some carbonic gas to protect it from oxidation during élevage, following what many people do in Burgundy, and it's still a little tickling. It's aromatic, floral and expressive, very clean and elegant. The fruit feels a little riper, with a fine-boned palate, refined tannins and a very fine thread, with pungent flavors that linger on your palate for a long time. It's Burgundian Mediterranean red. It should be bottled around May 2024 and fill some 6,000 bottles.
This is exceptionally pure, nervy and fragrant, with bright and incisive aromas that bring to mind red fruits with lavender and Mediterranean herbs, grapefruit zest, white pepper and exotic spices. This makes me think of mezcal. Formidable aromatics. The palate is equally seductive, fluid and elegant. A bit more tannin presence this year, but still quite fine and silky, which enhances the elegance of this wine. This is pure garnacha. Drinkable now, but will hold.
