The white 2021 Mas de Mancuso Macabeo was produced the same way the whites have always been produced in the zone, with short skin contact (two days) and long aging in 500-liter oak barrels (18 months), but the barrels are top quality and are quite neutral by now, as they have been well-seasoned by past vintages. It comes from the highest vines in the village from a plot at 800 meters in altitude, harvested early in a cooler year. It has an expressive and characterful nose, nothing about the oak, and with a very vibrant palate with very fine minerality, textured and with a very tasty effervescent finish. The wine has a very moderate 12% alcohol and a pH of 3.1 and 7.2 grams of acidity, previously unseen parameters. This wine has never been as fresh as this, and it has a lot of finesse. It should age nicely in bottle. 1,250 bottles were filled in October 2023.
