Verónica Ortega firma este blanco, elaborado con Godello procedente de suelos calcáreos; de ahí Cal, el nombre de este vino. Como cuenta Luis Gutiérrez en su review, esta será la última añada de este vino y no volverá a estar disponible en el futuro. 96 puntos Parker avalan su excelencia, que se ve reflejada en una acidez superlativa y un final sápido.

The Wine Advocate:

The 2020 VO Cal is even sharper than the 2019 I tasted next to it, and it's low in alcohol (11.9%) and has very low pH (2.95) with notable acidity (7.4) grams. The élevage was slightly longer—14 months in a combination of different sizes of barrels and 800-liter tinaja. This vineyard is always harvested quite early, and that was the case this year; but the style of the vintage is for moderate alcohol and higher acidity. Yields were also a little higher, and the wine is superb, austere and vibrant, quite harmonious, with a piquant palate with a sparkling texture and a long and salty finish. It has to be the finest Cal. Unfortunately, this will be the last vintage of Cal, as the vineyard was sold. This should be quite long lived. 4,300 bottles produced. It was bottled in November 2021.
