The 2017 La Cruz Verde is one of two wines they produced in 2017 from specific zones within Cebreros, what is called a "paraje." This wine is from the zone of Villalba/El Jorco, a zone marked by the influence of the Becedas River (with moderate temperatures), where they selected three small plots at 750 meters in altitude on silt and granite soils. They used 15% full clusters for the fermentation with indigenous yeasts in concrete vats. It matured in one 10,000-liter Slovenian oak vat for 14 months, where the wine underwent malolactic. In November, the wine was racked and filtered and then bottled in January. The 2017s have less color than the 2018s, and this has a very approachable personality, with notes of cherries in liqueur à la Châteauneuf-du-Pape but with the austerity of the white granite soils on the palate. This is a little more approachable than the Las Violetas—it's more relaxed. 11,500 bottles, 250 magnums and some larger formats produced.

Decepcionante. Toque de aguja. Poco sabor y color.
Gran nariz, muy salino y mineral, potente y elegante estructura y persistencia final. Gran vino
